Future uncertain for local probate courts

Dennis O’Brien, the Windham’s probate judge, updated selectmen last week on the unclear future of probate court consolidation.
The consolidation plan will help the nearly bankrupt probate system by reducing the number of probate courts from the current 117 to less than 50.

Selectmen to review Stop & Shop proposal

A special selectmen meeting will be held Tuesday to possibly vote on a resolution regarding the VFW/Stop & Shop/Friendly’s proposal and send it to a town meeting.
The special meeting is at 6 p.m. at the town hall meeting room inside town hall at 979 Main St.
